Fabric Love: Thimbleberries House & Garden
This is the Thimbleberries Block-of-the-Month Club fabric for this year, 2007, called House & Garden. I purchased it to use for the sampler quilt I am making, the House & Garden Sampler Quilt. I don’t usually use this palette, but there are several fabrics here I think are really quite pretty.
For example, I do love the pretty floral on light ochre (left), and the sage floral, too (right). And when I focus on the lighter fabrics in the set, they really are quite pretty. Almost like what you might see in an enchanted cottage in a fairytale forest glen.
I also have a soft spot for yellow in all its forms, so these ochres speak to me. And who doesn’t love double pink? While in general I’m not a huge fan of 1800s inspired fabrics in general, I do love me a good double pink, like in my antique Chrome Yellow and Double Pink Antique LeMoyne Star Quilt that I hope to reproduce someday! I also like that pretty simple green print, too.
