Thimbleberries Club Block of the Month 2007
Okay, so you know how I mentioned I was working on a new quilt? Well, this is it! A friend of mine is taking the Thimbleberries Block of the Month Club at Quilting Delights, and I decided to join in and take it too. What fun. The quilt in the photo is a sample of the quilt we're making, hanging at the quilt shop. It's cute, right? Of course, me being me, I'm going to have to deviate from the prescribed pattern.
I love the design, and I love the scrappy-ish look. I'm not going to change that. And I do love the Thimbleberries fabrics. But I'm going to take the Thimbleberries fabrics and use them for another project. For this, I really want to do the vintage quilt blocks plus throw in other things to give it a really scrappy, vintage look. I think it'll be cute.
Here's the whole quilt, layed out on the package:
Now I just have to decide whether or not to do a full-size quilt. As designed, the quilt is something like 98" x 118" which is huge, and I would consider a King-size quilt, or at least an oversized Queen. But that means even halvsies gives you a 40" x 50" quilt and that's a darn humongous wall hanging, especially for someone with a small house like me. I suppose you could call it a crib quilt. An interesting idea, except I wouldn't want to give it away and I don't have a baby. Hmmmm....
